Is an aluminum step ladder safe to use around electricity?

No. Aluminum conducts electricity, so an aluminum step ladder should never be used near live electrical work or overhead power lines. Fiberglass is the right call for those jobs. Aluminum is an excellent choice everywhere else, where light weight and rust resistance matter more than insulation.

Why choose stainless steel over aluminum when it costs more?

Corrosion and hygiene. In wash-down, chemical, marine, or food and pharmaceutical settings, stainless resists the rust and pitting that would wear aluminum down over time, and it cleans to a sanitary finish. If your space stays dry, aluminum usually offers you the durability you need for less money.

What is the difference between a step ladder and a platform ladder?

A step ladder has a top cap you reach from but should not stand on for long. A platform ladder adds a larger standing platform, usually with a guardrail, so a worker can stand safely and use both hands for extended tasks. For repeated or lengthy work at height, the platform is the safer setup.

How much weight do these ladders hold?
